2021 TRYOUT update!
Tryout Schedule
Date: Tuesday, June 8th at 8pm
Mandatory Parent/Guardian & Cheerleader Meeting
Cheerleading candidates, accompanied by their parent/guardian(s), will meet via ZOOM.
Tryout Day #1
5pm-7pm/June 7th /Aux Gym or Commons
Cheerleading candidates will learn tryout material

Tryout Day #2
5pm-7pm/June 8th /Aux Gym or Commons
Cheerleading candidates will have the opportunity to practice/review material as well as learn stunt technique
​
Tryout Day #3
5pm-7pm/June 9th /Aux Gym or Commons
Cheerleading candidates will be timed running the mile and review stunting technique & tryout material
​
Tryout Day #4/Finals
Starts at 5pm/June 10th /Aux Gym
Cheerleading finalists will perform their tryout for the judging panel. Results will be posted online that evening.

How do tryouts work?

Tryouts will be held Monday-Thursday in the Ballard Commons & Aux Gym where Coaches & Captains will teach material that will be performed at the final tryout on Friday.

8th graders will try out at the same time as current high school students.

Do I have to have experience to make the cheerleading team?

​ Students of all skill levels are invited to tryout. Athletes are judged not only on current abilities but also potential for growth.

How much does being a member of the cheerleading team cost?
-
Cheerleaders are responsible for the cost of their uniforms and camp. Fundraising opportunities are offered and encouraged, however there will likely be out of pocket expense. Please contact Coach Amber with further questions.

When is cheer camp? Is it mandatory?

**Cheerleaders have the month of July off. Please schedule summer vacations accordingly.**

How much of a time commitment is it to be on the cheerleading team?

​Being a cheerleader is a HUGE time commitment. It is the one of the only sports that is two seasons long (Fall/Winter). We practice 3-4x a week and also are present at games as well as weekend cheerleading competitions.

What is it like to be a Ballard Cheerleader?

​Cheerleading at BHS is like being a part of a family. We are incredibly encouraging of one another as well as the other athletes and students at the school. We participate in community service projects and promote leadership at our school. It is an incredibly hard working environment where we are pushed to become our best selves. We hope you will be the next addition to our program!

Tryout Packet 2021
THINGS OF NOTE:

All tryout forms must be signed by BOTH athlete & parent/guardian

$35 ASB/Activity Fee for the 2021-2022 school year must be paid prior to tryouts. Please turn in receipt to Rayna Bauer in the Main Office.

Because cheerleading is a year long sport, physicals must be valid through 6/30/22 prior to tryouts. Please confirm it is on file early so you are not scrambling.

Tryout packet and Final Forms must be completed before the first day of tryouts. They will be checked off by the Athletic Secretary to ensure your packet contents and make sure all your information is up to date. Please plan accordingly.

We encourage you to turn in completed packets early! Packets are DUE: June 4th 2021
**All candidates must complete both the Tryout Packet & Final Forms**
**8th graders/transfers/private school applicants can not access Final Forms until 6/7/21 and must use the form below the Final Forms link instead**
